Steenstra GCM Styletto: Renewed Interest in Limited Production of the Electric Supercar in California

The Steenstra GCM Styletto, an exclusive zero-emission super sports car conceived by internationally renowned automotive designer Cornelis Steenstra, is attracting renewed interest for limited-series production in California.
Originally developed as an ambitious alternative to conventional high-performance exotics, the Styletto combines striking design, advanced electric propulsion and an unusually spacious two-seat interior. Its distinctive low-slung, highly aerodynamic body, dramatic gull-wing doors and sculptural proportions were created to deliver the emotional appeal of a traditional supercar without the emissions associated with combustion engines.
The Styletto was conceived well ahead of today’s rapidly expanding electric performance-car market. From the outset, its philosophy was straightforward: environmental responsibility should never come at the expense of driving pleasure, exclusivity or beautiful automotive design.
Drawing on his extensive international experience with manufacturers including Volvo, Mercedes-Benz, Mazda and Porsche, Steenstra developed the Styletto as the first vehicle in a proposed family of exclusive, American-designed, zero-emission performance automobiles.
A particularly important aspect of the original concept was its emphasis on accommodating two occupants in genuine comfort. Unlike many traditional supercars, where dramatic styling and mechanical packaging often compromise interior space, the Styletto was designed to combine exotic proportions with a more generous and carefully considered passenger environment.
The original development strategy also envisioned extensive personalization, including individually tailored seating, driver-oriented ergonomics and the use of advanced electric powertrain technology from specialist suppliers.

With renewed interest in bringing the Styletto to production, attention is once again turning toward establishing a limited-volume manufacturing operation in Southern California, where the project was originally conceived.
The objective remains to create an exceptionally exclusive American electric supercar that combines distinctive design, outstanding craftsmanship, advanced engineering and an engaging driving experience.
“I have always believed that the passion for exceptional performance automobiles and responsibility toward the environment can exist together,” says Cornelis Steenstra. “That philosophy was at the heart of the Styletto from the beginning, and it remains just as relevant today.”
Discussions concerning the next phase of the project are at an early stage. Production volumes, technical specifications and a potential launch schedule will be determined as development and investment opportunities progress.
The renewed interest offers an opportunity to revisit the original Styletto vision with today’s electric vehicle technologies and manufacturing capabilities, while preserving the design character and philosophy that made the project distinctive from the beginning.
